| News and Updates 3rd October 2005 - The Winton Historic Motor Festival was held this past weekend at Winton Raceway. Glorious weather drew large crowds over the two days to see some great historic racing, along with some beautifully turned out cars, trucks and tractors, and a number of trade stalls, including Saker Cars Australia. Click here for photos from the festival. 27th September 2005 - Saker Cars Australia were invited to display the SVS GT Road car as part of Calder Park Raceway's event launch for 2006. Click here to visit the Gallery for photos from the launch, and be sure to visit www.motorsport.com.au/latestnews.html for details of events planned for 2006. 20th September 2005 - The past weekend saw the return of the Saker SVS GT to the racetrack, at the 5th round of the AASA’s Victorian Motor Racing Championship at Calder Park Raceway. In only his second race meet in the Saker, owner John Biddlecombe put in a respectable performance, improving lap times every session and gaining valuable experience in the car. For more information, check out www.wintonraceway.com.au 23rd August 2005 - Saker Cars Australia is involved in discussions with the Australian Auto Sport Alliance (AASA) regarding the formation of a new sports car series for 2006. The category will be based on spaceframe chassis vehicles and will see a variety of sports cars competing, in what is shaping up to be a very exciting series. The Saker has been confirmed for inclusion in this series, so make sure you're ready to race next year in what will definitely be one of the most exciting new categories in Australian motorsport. Discover the driver's art now.... 11th August 2005 - Indicative pricing and specifications for Saker cars are now available on the website. Prices are for various stages of build, which can be completed by the owner for track only or as an ICV for road registration. Prices for turnkey road cars will not be available until ADR certification is complete. Click here to download the latest pricing. 18th July 2005 - New headlight and taillight installations have recently been completed on the road car as part of the ADR certification process. Images of the Saker's new look can be found throughout the website and on the Gallery page. 2nd May 2005 - Winton Raceway saw the highly successful debut of the Saker SVS GTon the Australian racing scene this past weekend. Young Gun, Luke Youlden, consistently reeled off fastest laps in every session to put the car on pole and come away with an unofficial lap record. See the press release for details of the weekend's results. 15th April 2005 - Luke Youlden has been confirmed as driver for the first race of the Sports/GT Intermarque challenge. He will drive the Saker SVS GT Race Car of John Biddlecomb. The first race will be held at Winton on the 30th/31st April 2005, and will see the Saker competing against several formidible opponents including Porsche GT2 and Ferari 360GT amongst others. See press release for details. 10th April 2005 - ADR compliance work continues in earnest with the arrival of new headlight sections. Designed specifically for the Australian market by Saker Cars Australia, the new modern headlight design will be incorporated in future Saker models globally. 1st April 2005 - Testing session at Winton. This was a good chance to run some shakedown laps and do a bit of shock tuning. Driven by Luke Youlden, Kent Youlden and John Biddlecomb, it was also a good chance for familiarisation with the Saker for up coming events. Car speed was very encouraging, especially with so few laps already completed on the track.
